 Job Responsibilities:

Data Engineer at Micron As a Big Data Engineer at Micron, your role will involve working with cross functional teams to implement end to end data solutions. Responsibilities include:

1. Data Engineering and Processing: Design and manage data pipelines for structured and unstructured data using cloud technologies, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.
2. ETL/ELT Processes: Lead the design and implementation of ETL/ELT pipelines for big data systems, including managing data transfer and transformations.
3. Data Modelling: Develop optimized physical and logical data models for databases and data warehouses.
4. Collaboration with Data Scientists: Work closely with data scientists to implement data cleaning, preparation strategies, and machine learning models.
5. Cloud Integration: Build APIs for seamless application integration and ensure the scalability and efficiency of cloud services.
6. Data Transformation: Establish best practices and procedures for transforming raw data into well-structured data models that are ready for analysis.
7. Software Development Life Cycle: Collaborate in an Agile or Waterfall development environment to ensure timely delivery of data projects.

 Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:

 Technical Skills:

• Big Data Engineering: Proficient in big data processing using cloud technologies such as Google Cloud (Big Query, Big Table, Cloud Functions), Spark, and cloud storage systems.
• Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, and Azure. Experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and object storage (GCS) is preferred.
• ETL/ELT Knowledge: Expertise in ETL/ELT tools and processes. Experience with Apache NiFi and Snowflake is a plus.
• Database Proficiency: Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL, and database technologies like Oracle, MSSQL.
• Programming: Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
• Algorithms and Data Structures: Good understanding of algorithms and the efficient use of data structures.
